The Royal Photographic Society

None

Established in 1853, the Royal Photographic Society is well respected for its outstanding achievement in education. We offer a friendly workshop environment providing practical hands on experience and advice about photography and digital photography.

The majority of our work focuses on supporting and organising practical workshops/lectures, community projects and work in schools and colleges, using a combination of old processes and modern technologies. Photography, like most things, is ever changing and modern technologies are taking it to new extremes which were once not thought possible. The Royal Photographic Society aims to keep up with these changing technologies and opinions by providing information, training and advice for all those with a keen interest in photography from the amateur enthusiast to the seasoned professional.

We have a purpose built lecture theatre and education suite fitted out with equipment and software for digital imaging. This enables us to deliver a programme of practical educational courses and events for members and non-members throughout the year; also this workshop facility is available for hire.
