Home > Bath Christmas Market Website is re-launched
Bath Tourism Plus, the Destination Marketing Organisation for Bath and the surrounding area, is pleased to announce the re-launch of the Bath Christmas Market website www.bathchristmasmarket.co.uk . Following a complete redesign, the website offers visitors more information than ever regarding the Market as well as help with planning a visit to the city.
The Bath Christmas Market has had its own dedicated website for 5 years which has increased in popularity and in 2007 received over 80,000 visits during November and December alone. According to Victoria Spriggs, Organiser of the event, "The previous website fell well behind the industry standard with regard to both look and feel and interactivity".
"The aim of the new site is to promote a quality, festive event and to publicise the Bath Christmas Market brand and the destination. With a complete redesign, improved branding and functionality including new features such as stallholder searches, event searches, a video, in depth visitor information and specialist group travel information, visitors are provided with a far more efficient and informative service".
The new website has been built by New Mind Internet Consultancy, a market leading technology supplier to tourism organisations in the UK. The website is powered by the New Mind enterprise content management system, allowing Bath Tourism Plus to quickly update information in-house.
Research has shown that a strong web presence is vital as 30% of visitors in 2006 first learned about the Bath Christmas Market on the internet. The new website is expected to increase visitor awareness further.
This year's Christmas Market will run from the 27th November to the 7th December and will be home to 123 traditional wooden chalets selling unique, handmade and unusual gifts, decorations and food items. Set in the beautiful area between the stunning Bath Abbey and the internationally renowned visitor attraction, the Roman Baths, the city will be transformed into a Christmas shopper's haven.
