Why not begin by visiting the first ever house to be built on the iconic Royal Crescent, No.1 Royal Crescent? This authentic Georgian house is decorated in the style of the period. The exhibition features interactive video and displays, plus many original artefacts and paintings, and a special Jane Austen self-guided tour on Fridays.

Take a walk across Pulteney Bridge to the impressively majestic Holburne Museum, home to a collection of fine and decorative art along with continually changing temporary exhibitions. Enjoy everything from portraits to ceramics, modern art to classical paintings.

Bedazzled by astronomy? The Herschel Museum explores the life and work of William and Caroline Herschel, astronomers and musicians, within the very house they lived in here in Bath. The Herschel 200 exhibition marks 200 years since William’s death in 1822.

For something completely different and off the beaten path, head to Beckford’s Tower. Just a few minutes’ bus ride from the city centre, this gold-tipped tower features a stunning pink 127-step staircase, plus an exhibition exploring William Beckford’s life and sexuality.
