Home > Bath Tourism Plus Reaches 400 Members
Bath Tourism Plus, the destination marketing organisation for Bath and the surrounding area, is pleased to welcome local business, 'the Real Italian Pizza Company' in York Street, as its 400th member.
Bath Tourism Plus took over the management of tourism promotion from Bath & North East Somerset Council in October 2003, and in June the following year introduced its membership scheme for local tourism businesses. The scheme provides access to a range of commercially-focussed benefits and services including promotion through the official tourism website www.visitbath.co.uk and the Tourist Information Centre in Abbey Chambers, as well as inclusion in marketing and PR activity carried out by Bath Tourism Plus.
The membership base has grown steadily since its introduction in 2004, with a wide range of businesses now working with Bath Tourism Plus, from tour companies and accommodation providers to restaurants, shops and attractions. Fiona Humphreys, Commercial Manager at Bath Tourism Plus says, '' The success of our membership scheme lies in the fact that tourism businesses can engage with us as true partners, working together to promote Bath and the surrounding area to potential visitors. We see this as a two-way process and we actively encourage our members to really get involved by providing us with relevant information which we can deliver onwards, at the appropriate time, to regional, national and international markets through our media contacts and marketing campaigns. With the diverse range of businesses now represented on the official destination website, www.visitbath.co.uk, Bath Tourism Plus is able provide an efficient and informative service to visitors, giving them access to all the details needed to plan a trip to the area, as well as helping to drive traffic to our individual member businesses".
During May to date, Bath Tourism Plus has already welcomed 7 new member businesses including the Radstock Museum, Jaflong Restaurant, the Real Italian Ice Cream Company, retailers Soft Veil and Pink Art, as well as a tour company specialising in riding holidays through Somerset - Travels on Horseback.
