About

As dusk settles over the beautiful parklands of Newton Park, step into a magical side of nature that few get to see.

Join for a guided evening bat walk, where you'll explore a Capability Brown landscape while listening for the flutter and echo of one of Britain's most fascinating nocturnal creatures.

Led by knowledgeable guides, you'll learn how bats navigate using echolocation, discover the different species that call Newton Park home, and use bat detectors to hear their high-frequency calls in real time. It's a unique chance to connect with wildlife in a tranquil, atmospheric setting just outside Bath.

Perfect for nature lovers and anyone curious about the unseen world around us, this relaxed and engaging walk offers a memorable way to experience Newton Park after dark.

Participants should meet in the Commons building. The walk is weather-dependent since the bats don't like rain, so if we need to reschedule, we'll contact you.
