About

Working at a single focal length challenges the photographer to consider the relationship between foreground and background, and encourages a deeper awareness of how distance, framing and movement shape visual meaning.

For this exhibition, six photographers from a range of genres were invited to produce a series of images at their chosen focal length, using a fast-aperture prime lens from the Sigma Art range, spanning 14mm up to 85mm.

The result is six distinct bodies of work that reveal not only the character of each lens, but the personal way each photographer has chosen to see through it.

Sigma's Art primes are renowned for their optical excellence and aesthetic character, making them a first choice for photographers seeking images that are both technically outstanding and highly expressive. All six lenses used in this exhibition have either F1.4 or F1.2 apertures, delivering a very shallow depth-of-field, excellent low-light performance and maximum creative flexibility.

The photographers featuring in this exhibition are: Josh Dury, Tony Noël, Joe Cornish, Ki Price, Benedict Brain and Mike Glide. Each is an accomplished professional photographer with a well-established practice and a distinctive creative voice.
