About

Set on the banks of the River Avon in the heart of Bradford on Avon, Timbrell’s Yard is a stylish boutique hotel with 17 individually designed bedrooms, offering a relaxed and characterful base from which to explore Wiltshire, Bath and the wider West Country. Housed within a historic riverside building, the hotel combines original features with contemporary interiors, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that feels both comfortable and distinctive.

Bradford on Avon

Bradford on Avon is often described as one of the South West’s hidden gems - a picturesque market town of honey-coloured stone buildings, independent shops, historic landmarks and beautiful riverside walks. Just a short train ride from Bath yet offering a quieter pace of life, it provides visitors with the perfect balance of culture, countryside and relaxation.

Boutique Style

Each of Timbrell’s Yard’s bedrooms is individually styled, blending Scandinavian-inspired simplicity with carefully chosen vintage pieces, contemporary artwork and thoughtful touches. Some rooms enjoy views across the river, while others showcase original beams and architectural details that reflect the building’s rich history.

Ammenities

Comfortable beds, quality linens and well-appointed bathrooms with Ubiety bath and body products ensure a restful stay whether guests are visiting for a romantic break, walking holiday, business trip or weekend escape.

Hospitality sits at the heart of the Timbrell’s Yard experience. Guests can enjoy breakfast overlooking the river, spend time exploring the town’s independent businesses and cultural attractions, or simply relax beside the water with a drink from the bar. The hotel’s award-winning restaurant serves seasonal dishes showcasing the best of the South West, while the large riverside terrace offers one of the most sought-after outdoor dining spots in the area. Wood-fired pizzas, local drinks and a celebrated Sunday roast make Timbrell’s Yard a destination in its own right.

Dog-Friendly Stays

Dog-friendly bedrooms are available, making it easy for guests to explore the surrounding countryside and Avon Valley with their four-legged companions. Whether visiting for a one-night stopover, a weekend away or a longer stay, Timbrell’s Yard offers genuine West Country hospitality, beautiful surroundings and a strong sense of place, all from one of Bradford on Avon’s most enviable riverside locations.

Accessibility Information

All the public areas at Timbrell’s Yard are on the ground floor. All doors and corridors are wide enough for a wheelchair. There is level access to the terrace and patio area from the bar.

There are 17 en-suite bedrooms located on the raised ground, first and second floors. Timbrell’s Yard is a listed building and the age of the building does not allow for the provision of a lift or fully accessible bedrooms and bathrooms. This means that wheelchair access to the upper floors is not possible.

Assistance dogs are welcome to stay in the rooms.
