About

The Georgian era was a period of remarkable transformation in British history, marked by political upheaval, social change, imperial expansion, and extraordinary cultural achievement. In Key Dates in Georgian History, Nicholas Travers explores some of the most fascinating moments of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, from royal scandals and dramatic political crises to curious anecdotes and lesser-known events that shaped the age. Along the way, the book highlights the rise of fashionable spa towns such as Bath, whose elegant architecture and vibrant social life made it one of the defining centres of Georgian society.
