About

Prior Park will once again take part in the Festival of Archaeology, offering visitors the opportunity to learn about previous excavations and archaeological projects through displays, interpretation, and guided experiences.

Information on past digs in the Pasture will be on display, alongside finds from earlier projects, including the dams project. On selected dates, a volunteer will be available to answer questions and discuss the discoveries and findings in more detail.

Visitors will also be able to view a timeline charting the 33 years since the National Trust acquired Prior Park, highlighting the site's restoration and development over time. Interpretation panels around the landscape will provide insight into areas of archaeological and historical significance, including the Bath House.

In addition, two pre-bookable guided walks led by the archaeologist who directed previous excavations will be available on 22 and 28 July. Further details and booking information can be found on the walks' event pages.
