Bath Abbey’s choirs present a poignant Remembrance Concert at Bath Abbey, featuring a programme of choral music for reflection, comfort and reconciliation.

Taking place during national Remembrance Weekend, the concert brings together works spanning the 19th century to the present day. The programme includes music by Gabriel Fauré, John Ireland, Hubert Parry and Amy Beach, alongside a new setting of part of St John’s Gospel by Yorkshire-born composer Emma Brown.

The evening concludes with Fauré’s timeless Requiem, performed by the Bath Abbey Boys Choir, Lay Clerks and Chamber Choir. First performed in Paris in 1888, the much-loved work is renowned for its peaceful and uplifting character.

The performance follows the Abbey choirs’ visit to La Madeleine in Paris in October 2026 - the church where Fauré’s Requiem received its first performance - bringing an additional connection to the music.
