About

Watch 2000 elegantly-dressed attendees in Regency Costume for this world-famous spectacular official opening to the Jane Austen Festival.

Departing from Royal Crescent lawn at 11am, accompanied by red coats and navy officers and led by the town crier and drums, the Promenade lasts about 90 minutes and ends in Parade Gardens near Bath Abbey.

This is a Regency costume mandatory event. If you arrive without a suitable Regency outfit, you may be asked to leave the promenade.

*Please note that wristbands for this year's Promenade are now sold out, however you are welcome to view the spectacle from locations around the city*
