Be serenaded at one of Bath's cosy pubs and bars 

Spend an evening at one of Bath's cosy pubs or bars, where you'll find regular live music performances alongside delicious food and drink. 

Popular sister restaurants Bath Pizza Co and Green Park Brasserie are well worth visiting anytime for their delicious award-winning pizza, locally-sourced dishes, cocktails and more. But stop by from 6:30pm every Wednesday to Friday, and you'll dine to the tune of live jazz, funk, soul and swing music from some of Bath's most talented local musicians. Plus, in the summer months, you can lounge outdoors on one of the two buzzing terraces and enjoy a festival atmosphere as you savour your meal. 

If you're planning to arrive early, don't miss the tempting offer of a spritz for £6 between 12 and 5pm, available at both restaurants.

Just across the road at Bath Brew House, take your pick from a wide selection of beers brewed in the on-site microbrewery, and a selection of classic pub dishes that the venue has given its own unique twist; our personal favourite of these is the Gladiator Beer Can Chicken. Whatever you go for, enjoy it either in the pub's spacious and cosy interior, or outside in the suntrap garden. Bath Brew House also hosts a range of regular events every week, including board game nights, pub quizzes, live music and more.

If you prefer video games, don't miss retro game nights every Monday and Tuesday at nearby pub The Cork, where you can enjoy a spot of nostalgia playing a range of Xbox 360, Nintendo Gamecube, and PlayStation 2 titles. The pub also hosts DJ nights every Friday, and Drag Queen Bingo on the last Thursday of each month.

Can't get enough pub quizzes? Head to other side of the city centre to try your hand at The Bath Cider House's every Sunday night, over one of the venue's fabulous fermentations and massive 14 inch pizzas! 

Beloved Bath pub The Grapes is renowned for hosting performances from local and national musicians across a range of genres most nights of the week. Expect jazz, folk, rock, alternative, and many more, alongside an excellent selection of ales and ciders from local independent breweries behind the bar.

Community-owned pub The Bell Inn hosts live music performances and DJ nights seven days a week, with a range of traditional pub tipples on tap, including seven real ales and guest ales throughout the year. You can also enjoy some good old-fashioned pub entertainment, with table football, bar billiards, chess and backgammon all available.

Be amazed at Sleight Magic Bar and Krowd Keepers Magic Theatre

Did you know that you can enjoy shows from the world's finest magicians in Bath? Head to the Ale House pub, based just steps away from The Roman Baths and Bath Abbey, where you'll find not one, but two superb magic venues.

Downstairs in the cellar is Sleight Magic Bar, the first venue of its kind in Bath, open from 7pm every Thursday to Sunday. Take your pick from a range of themed cocktails, from 'Stack The Deck' to 'Where The Magic Happens,' then sit back and marvel at impossible close-up magic performed by professional guest magicians from across the UK. 

Two floors up is Krowd Keepers Magic Theatre, open every Friday and Saturday from 8pm. Prepare to be stunned in a speakeasy-style atmosphere, with hand-picked guest magicians from across the globe conjuiring up a unique experience using the art of sleight of hand magic. Through a combination of contemporary and classic illusions, you'll be taken on a journey you never expected, with three hard and fast rules: no rabbits, feather flowers, or top hats.

Laugh and dance the night away at Bath's late-night venues

Komedia is several venues in one: a comedy club, a nightclub, a live music hub, and many more, making it one of the most action-packed places to be on a Bath evening. Throughout the year, the venue hosts over 500 events, with an exciting programme of touring shows featuring top bands and comedians, plus talks, film, family events and student nights.

Saturday nights are the most eventful, with the weekly Komedia Comedy Club from 8pm, featuring a rotating lineup of three hilarious stand-up comics, immediately followed at 11pm by The Big Disco, an all-night party to guilty pop pleasures throughout the ages.

For something a bit more underground (literally), head to The Jesters Comedy Club on Alfred Street. This grassroots basement venue runs live stand-up five nights a week, mixing touring headliners and circuit regulars with buzzy new material nights.

Go on a cocktail crawl

Bath is awash with numerous elegant and acclaimed cocktail bars, each with their own distinct style. See how many you can tick off on an evening crawl around the city centre, where you'll have a chance to experience the historic charm of Bath's Georgian buildings as well as sampling some fabulous cocktails. 

On the northern tip of the city centre is The Bootlegger, a speakeasy-style venue based inside an 18th-century street vault. As well as an inimitable ambience, The Bootlegger offers an impressive selection of over 90 handcrafted cocktails to choose from, as well as regular live music and DJ performances.

At nearby Shires Yard, you'll find The Botanist. Based in The Octagon, a characterful former chapel, you may recognise this beautiful bar from its starring role in the hit Channel 4 show First Dates. One of the newest additions to Bath's nightlife scene, Bath Karaoke offers you the chance to sing along to your favourite tunes, from the latest hits to iconic tracks from throughout the decades. Based above Bath's resident Japanese restaurant, Robun, the bar comes equipped with a purpose-built sound system to give you the full concert stage experience.

You're always in for an unforgettable show at the Theatre Royal Bath, which welcomes touring West End musicals, plays, opera, and more to its Main House all year round. The theatre also consists of the Ustinov Studio, where you'll find opera, original productions of legendary plays from renowned playwrights, classical music recitals and more, as well as The Egg, home to children's theatre productions.
