About

The Jesters Comedy Club is Bath's only dedicated stand-up comedy venue, running live shows five nights a week from an intimate 50-seat underground room at 17 Alfred Street. The close, grassroots setting puts audiences right next to the stage, offering a more atmospheric alternative to Bath's larger comedy venues.

What to expect

Founded in 2024 by comedian Sam Hawkins, who MCs most shows himself, The Jesters hosts a rotating line-up of touring headliners, circuit regulars and new material every week throughout the year, alongside seasonal events including an Edinburgh Fringe preview season each summer.

Bookings

The Jesters is a popular choice for date nights, group bookings, birthdays, and stag or hen parties, as well as for comedy fans visiting Bath looking for a local alternative to mainstream chains. Tickets for all shows can be booked directly through the venue's website, with regular updates on line-ups and events posted across its social channels.

The Jesters Comedy Club is Bath's Funniest Basement.
