About

The Bath Women’s Fund invites participants to discover the stories of amazing women from Bath’s history who lived or worked in the city through the Women and Girls of Bath Treasure Hunt.

Building on previous linear walks starting at The Holburne and Fairfield House, this updated experience includes many new stories and locations. Emma Beeston and Isobel Michael will guide attendees on a circular walking route of approximately 5km, beginning and ending at The Holburne.

For those unable to attend the guided walk, the Treasure Hunt can also be explored independently and at a self-guided pace by requesting the information via email at info@bathwomensfund.org.uk.

The project has been developed with thanks to Helen Pugh BA Hons, author of Unsung Women in Somerset, for her input and suggestions of additional women to include, as well as the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution’s Extraordinary Women project. The resource will continue to evolve, and suggestions of other women, girls, and places to include are welcomed.

This event is presented in collaboration with the BANES Women Leadership Network, a diverse, inclusive, and cross-sector networking space for women leaders across Bath and North East Somerset (BANES). The network aims to create a safe, supportive, and dynamic environment where women leaders can connect, learn from one another, and offer mutual support.

The BANES Women Leadership Network welcomes participation from:

  • Individuals who identify as women
  • Existing and aspiring leaders
  • Those based in BANES, or those willing to travel to Bath for events
  • Professionals at any stage of their career, from those just starting out to experienced leaders with wisdom to share
  • #HeForShe allies

The network is committed to collaboration with other women’s leadership networks across the region and strives to make events as diverse, inclusive, and accessible as possible. Participants with specific accessibility requirements are encouraged to share these in advance. The network also hosts quarterly dinners with leadership speakers, coffee mornings with guest facilitators, and an annual International Women’s Day event.

The collaboration with the Bath Women’s Fund supports and amplifies the stories of the women and girls of Bath through these guided walks.
