About

Created by and for the emergency services community, the Blue Light Symphony Orchestra brings together serving and former emergency service personnel, NHS staff, members of the armed forces and civilian musicians. The orchestra is dedicated to promoting wellbeing through music while delivering inspiring performances for audiences across the UK.

This special concert in Bath features a programme of much-loved classical works, opening with Ralph Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis, renowned for its rich harmonies and atmospheric sound. The performance continues with Edward Elgar's Enigma Variations (Nimrod), one of Britain's most moving orchestral compositions, before concluding with Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 9, From the New World, an iconic masterpiece inspired by the composer's time in America.

The concert reflects the emotional depth, resilience and shared experiences of those working in the emergency services, combining exceptional musicianship with a programme that is both uplifting and thought-provoking.
