About

Elton House in the heart of Bath will be open as part of Heritage Open Days this September. Following recent upgrade works in 2025, this favourite landmark will be open to the public on the weekend of Saturday 19 - Sunday 20 September, 10am-4pm.

Celebrate Heritage Open Days with a dedicated BSL tour of Elton House. Led in British Sign Language, this unique tour offers an opportunity to uncover the rich history and character of one of Bath's historic buildings. The tour will last approximately 40 minutes.

Due to the historic nature of the buildings, they have a limited capacity for the Open Day events. You may therefore be asked to wait a short time while other visitors finish their visit. Whilst booking is not essential, priority will be given to those who have booked in advance.

Tickets

Tickets to this event are free. Pre-booking via Eventbrite is preferred so we can provide you with updates on this event.

At 10:15, there will be a guided BSL tour of Elton House. Places are free but strictly limited and must be booked in advance. This tour will be delivered in British Sign Language (BSL) and has been created specifically for BSL users. Please only book a place if this tour is intended for you.

Accessibility

Please note that due to the nature of the historic buildings and places, some may not be suitable for those with limited mobility or certain disabilities. Elton House has steps to the front door, and steep and uneven stairs throughout. The lower floors and back garden have flagstones that are uneven in places. There is very limited space for leaving prams and buggies on the ground floor. Children must be accompanied at all times throughout the house.
