About

Regency Corsetry Techniques

Discover the hidden layers of Regency fashion during the Jane Austen Festival in Bath with this hands-on Regency Corsetry Techniques workshop.

Led by corsetry expert Ellie Scotton, the workshop will explore how Regency undergarments were made, worn and embellished. Using sample Regency stays and a chemise, participants will discover the techniques and craftsmanship that went into creating these essential historical garments.

Participants will also have the opportunity to try a selection of traditional sewing techniques, including cording, flossing and hand-sewn eyelets, offering a fascinating insight into Regency-era dressmaking and corsetry.

The workshop is suitable for all ages and abilities.
