About
Bath Guildhall Market is the oldest shopping venue in the city and has traded on this site for over 800 years.
Surviving from the 18th century is the ‘Nail’, a table on which market transactions took place, hence the saying, ‘pay on the nail’. Today a colourful group of 20 or so stall holders trade from this jewel of Bath.
Entrances from Orange Grove, Newmarket Row or the High Street. The market is free to enter and explore.
Wheelchair accessible throughout.
Food & Drink
Foodies will love the traditionally packed leaf teas at Gillards of Bath, fine cheeses from Nibbles Cheese, locall specialities and bakes from The Guildhall Deli, and old fashioned sweets from Bath Humbug Shop.
Both shoppers and non-shoppers can try an excellent coffee at Jane's Espresso Bar, or a full English breakfast in the Market Cafe.
Fashion & Gifts
For fashonistas and high fliers, fine jewellery, wraps, pashminas, shirts, bags and luggage from Bath Leather Goods, Dream of Olwen, Dufflebag and Stardust Designs.
Those in need of a haircut at Guildhall Barber Shop can purchase a secondhand paperback from Skoobs Book Stall and read whilst awaiting their turn.
