Midsomer Norton Illuminated Carnival is the largest event held in the Somer Valley, taking place every November. The date fluctuates from year to year, but this year the carnival will take place on Monday 16 November.

The parade will wind its way through the streets of Midsomer Norton, commencing at 7.30pm at the junction of Charlton Lane/Fosseway (A367). It will process along Charlton Road, Silver Street, High Street (in the reverse direction) and Stones Cross, before ending at Radstock Road.

The procession consists of many carts, some of which are 30m long and festooned with up to 30,000 lights. There are also many masqueraders in elaborate costumes, both individuals and groups, together with troupes of majorettes, all of which help to create the carnival's unique atmosphere and a spectacle not to be missed.

Visitors should be aware that temporary road closures will be in effect. While some disruption is expected, every effort will be made to keep delays to a minimum. As always, the health and safety of the public and all participants remain the highest priority.
