About

Halloween at Wookey Hole 2026

Wookey Hole becomes the Home of Halloween this October, with a spellbinding programme of family-friendly Halloween activities taking place beneath the Mendip Hills in Somerset.

From Saturday 3 October to Sunday 1 November 2026, families can explore the world-famous Wookey Hole Caves as they are transformed for Halloween with immersive projections, glowing pumpkins and the legendary story of the Witch of Wookey Hole. Halloween activities take place on selected weekends from 3 October, before running daily from 24 October to 1 November during the October half-term holidays.

Visitors can journey underground to see spectacular projections bringing the tale of the Witch of Wookey Hole to life among the ancient rock formations. Young explorers can also follow a mysterious Halloween Pumpkin Trail through the caves, solving clues and searching for magical pumpkins hidden by the Witch. Children who successfully complete the challenge will receive a Halloween prize.

The Witch of Wookey Hole will also be making appearances throughout the event, giving families the opportunity to stop for a spooky photo. Children are encouraged to arrive in Halloween fancy dress, with young witches, wizards, monsters, superheroes and other characters entered into a daily prize draw for the chance to win a year-long Wookey Hole Membership.

Monster's Ball Circus Show

The creatures of the night take over the Wookey Hole Circus for the Monster's Ball Circus Extravaganza. The family-friendly Halloween performance combines monster acrobatics, daring vampire stunts, impressive tricks and comedy.

Circus performances take place on weekends from 3 October and daily between 24 October and 1 November 2026.
