About
At The Chapel, Bruton is one of the South West’s most distinctive food destinations, bringing together an award-winning artisan bakery, restaurant, wine store and hotel within a beautifully restored 18th-century chapel in the heart of Somerset.
Food has always been at the centre of At The Chapel’s story. The bakery supplies freshly baked bread, pastries and cakes seven days a week and has become renowned throughout the region for its naturally leavened sourdough. Using traditional methods, long fermentation and carefully sourced ingredients, the bakery produces everything from daily loaves to seasonal specials, supplying not only guests in Bruton but also the popular bakery pop-ups held across the Stay Original collection.
Ingredient-led cooking
The restaurant celebrates simple, ingredient-led cooking with a strong emphasis on seasonality and provenance. Menus change regularly to reflect what is best from local farms, growers and producers, allowing the kitchen to showcase the exceptional quality of Somerset and South West ingredients. Alongside carefully prepared daily dishes, the wood-fired pizza oven has become a defining part of the At The Chapel experience. Thin, crisp pizzas are topped with seasonal ingredients, artisan cheeses and carefully sourced produce, creating a relaxed dining style that has become synonymous with the restaurant.
Countryside views
The spectacular terrace is one of Bruton’s most sought-after dining spaces. Overlooking the town and surrounding countryside, it provides the perfect setting for long lunches, wood-fired pizzas, morning coffee or evening drinks. Throughout the year, guests gather to enjoy the combination of exceptional food, artisan baking and the unique atmosphere created by the historic chapel setting.
Beverages
At The Chapel’s commitment to quality extends beyond food into its carefully curated drinks offering. The wine store features a thoughtfully selected collection of wines from independent growers and producers, with many available to enjoy alongside meals in the restaurant. Local beers, ciders and spirits are also championed throughout the business, reflecting the creativity and craftsmanship found across the South West.
