October Half Term

Why not celebrate spooky season with an action-packed family day out?

Become Roman doctors-in-training at The Roman Baths, explore a spooky new light trail at The American Museum & Gardens, or brave teens can enjoy a lighthearted scare at FEARless, aimed at ages 11 - 16.

One of your first ports of call has to be the self-described 'home of Halloween,' Wookey Hole. Your ticket will include access to a fang-tastic range of activities across the site, from exploring the famous caves and meeting the legendary Wookey witch, to following a vampire trail and enjoying spooky shows in the 4D cinema and circus. As if that wasn't enough, there's also a chance to enjoy daily fancy dress competitions, Monster Golf, a glowing pumpkin patch, and much more!

Longleat safari park will turn into a pumpkin-filled adventure inspired by the new film, Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, with an interactive trail packed with seasonal surprises, spooky characters and themed entertainment.

Pumpkin patches

Head outside of the city centre and pick your perfect pumpkin at Avon Valley Adventure Park, or visit the pumpkin patch as part of the Harvest Festival at Hartley Farm.

Watch hawks and owls put on a dazzling display over the pumpkin scattered meadow in a special Halloween event at The Bird of Prey Project, or follow a Pumpkin Trail around the pretty grounds of Bowood House.

Outdoor trails & activites

Feel the satisfying rustle of fallen leaves underfoot by heading out on one of the many outdoor trails in and around Bath this half-term.

A visit to Westonbirt Arboretum is a must as always, with its glorious displays of autumn colour. This year, there are two brand new trails to follow through the Old Arboretum that are sure to fire up younger visitors' imaginations; the 'M agic of Maples' in the dog-friendly Silk Wood, and 'Room on the Broom' trail, inviting them to help Witch find her lost hat, bow and wand, and collect ingredients for her next spell.

Elsewhere at Prior Park Landscape Garden, Dyrham Park, and Bowood, you'll find themed trails to complete as you wander across their beautiful grounds.

Bath's many parks and gardens are the perfect place to go for an autumnal walk and admire the colourful foliage.
